Al Nuaimi: ICO supports victims of the floods in Sudan with one million dirhams

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Charitable Organization (ICO), announced that the ICO has provided humanitarian aid to families displaced in Sudan due to torrential rains and floods, with a value of one million dirhams since the beginning of August. He stressed that the ICO is one of the first charitable organizations to reach the affected and stricken areas, launching a relief campaign that persists today to help the brotherly Sudanese people against this disaster.

 

Al Nuaimi said: The ICO is always keen on play its humanitarian role and standing by the brothers, in response to the directives of the wise leadership. To alleviate the suffering of the displaced and the families of the victims, the ICO implemented many humanitarian programs and relief operations, such as providing tents and blankets, distributing food parcels and securing basic medical supplies, along with many humanitarian initiatives. He noted that the ICO continues to provide the current needs of the affected people, which mitigate the repercussions of the disaster.

 

It is noteworthy that the ICO's delegation visited Sudan on August 10th, headed by H.E. Dr. Khaled Abdul-Wahab Al Khaja, ICO's Secretary-General, in coordination with its offices in Khartoum and Kassala, where a comprehensive relief campaign was launched and received great support from the UAE benefactors.

 

The affected families extended their thanks and gratitude to the UAE leadership and people, and to the ICO for its ongoing efforts to alleviate their suffering from torrential rains and floods every year, and for its constant support for humanitarian projects in their homeland.
