A delegation from the International Charity Organization, headed by H.E. Dr. Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Organization, is visiting Mauritania, Benin, and Senegal to inaugurate and launch 150 charitable and humanitarian projects and initiatives. The visit forms part of the Organization’s ongoing efforts to expand the reach of its projects and strengthen its humanitarian impact in communities that are most in need.
The visit includes the inauguration of several completed projects, including mosques and water wells, alongside a range of initiatives such as providing meals and distributing aid to underprivileged families and eligible beneficiaries. These efforts aim to meet their essential needs and improve their living conditions.
The tour also includes the launch of a new package of projects covering mosque construction, maintenance, and furnishing; well drilling and maintenance; the establishment of Qur’an memorization centres; support for productive family businesses; and various food assistance programmes. In addition, the Organization will launch educational, developmental, and other charitable projects aimed at providing essential services and strengthening opportunities for stability and self-reliance.
H.E. Dr. Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organization, affirmed that these field visits reflect the Organization’s commitment to directly monitoring its projects and gaining a clear understanding of the circumstances and actual needs of beneficiary communities, ensuring that resources are directed towards projects of the highest priority.
His Excellency said: “The inauguration and launch of 150 charitable projects and initiatives during this tour demonstrate the International Charity Organization’s commitment to continuing its mission and implementing the generosity of donors into tangible projects that positively impact beneficiaries’ lives. These include providing clean water, building mosques, supporting education, and empowering families economically.”
He added: “We believe that charitable work is not limited to implementing projects and providing assistance; it also extends to monitoring their impact and ensuring their sustainability. For this reason, we place great importance on maintaining a field presence, engaging directly with beneficiaries and partners, listening to communities’ needs, evaluating existing projects, and exploring new opportunities that can bring about positive and sustainable change in people’s lives.”
He also noted that the tour provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and coordination with partner entities and institutions in the countries being visited, as well as to develop project implementation and monitoring mechanisms. These efforts will enhance operational efficiency and help ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most. He reaffirmed that the Organization will continue to expand its presence, inspired by the approach and deeply rooted values of generosity upheld by the United Arab Emirates.
The Secretary-General concluded by emphasizing that the Organization’s projects and initiatives are the result of the trust placed in it by donors and supporters, whose generosity remains a fundamental pillar of its continued mission. He noted that the Organization will continue transforming these contributions into sustainable projects that preserve human dignity and open up better opportunities for people to build a better future.
