The International Charity Organisation (ICO) has launched its orphan sponsorship and care campaign, 'Mercy Among Us', aimed at sponsoring and caring for 2,000 orphans and expanding the support provided to orphans and their families to help meet their basic needs and promote family, educational and health stability.
The campaign features a range of humanitarian projects and initiatives supporting orphans and their families, including providing electrical appliances for their homes, covering students’ school fees, and providing healthcare for orphans and their mothers, in addition to other forms of urgent assistance aimed at improving their living conditions and meeting their essential needs.
His Excellency Dr Khaled Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organisation, said the launch of the 'Mercy Among Us' campaign reflects the Organisation’s commitment to expanding its orphan sponsorship programmes and developing them beyond traditional sponsorship into an integrated system of comprehensive care and support.
He stressed that caring for orphans goes beyond providing financial assistance and extends to creating a more stable and secure family environment, while enhancing their opportunities to continue their education and build their future.
Al Khaja added that the campaign embodies the UAE’s approach to promoting the values of social solidarity, compassion and giving. It also reflects the International Charity Organisation’s commitment to reaching orphans and their families and meeting their needs through sustainable charitable programmes and projects.
He called on individuals and institutions to support the campaign and contribute to achieving its objectives.
The 'Mercy Among Us' campaign follows the conclusion of the Organisation’s schools campaign, which provided assistance to students at the start of the new academic year.
