A delegation from the International Charity Organization, headed by H.E. Dr. Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Organization, has begun an official visit to Somaliland aimed at inspecting dozens of charitable projects implemented by the Organization for the benefit of needy families, orphan families, and patients.
The visit comes as part of the Organization’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Africa and to assess the needs of local communities in a way that ensures improving the level of services provided to the most vulnerable groups and reinforces the Organization’s role in supporting social stability.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Khalid Abdulwahab Al Khaja stated: “The visit includes reviewing the conditions of needy families through direct field tours to examine their living needs and identify urgent priorities that require immediate intervention—especially those suffering from chronic poverty or difficult health conditions. The delegation will also visit a number of orphan families registered in the Organization’s programs to review their situations and the extent to which they benefit from the services and care provided, in addition to assessing the needs of patients and the elderly, who are among the groups most in need of support.”
He added: “The visit program also includes inspecting developmental projects currently under implementation, foremost among them the construction of mosques, the drilling of wells, and the development of water networks which contribute to providing safe water sources in areas suffering from water scarcity. This is in addition to following up on the progress of health projects implemented by the Organization, including health centers and clinics.”
He continued: “We are keen to follow up on our projects on the ground, meet the beneficiaries, and identify their real needs to ensure the implementation of effective projects that achieve a tangible impact on the lives of the needy. The achievements of the Organization in Somaliland and other countries are due—after Allah Almighty—to the generous donors who continuously support our programs and projects. We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to them for their precious trust and for their efforts in changing the lives of thousands of families for the better.”
