222 Million AED – Total Value of International Charity Organization Projects in the First Half of 2025

The International Charity Organization revealed that the total value of its projects during the first half of 2025 amounted to 222 million AED, distributed across a wide range of humanitarian and development programs and projects both inside and outside the country.

Of this, 74 million was spent domestically, while 148 million was allocated abroad in 20 countries worldwide, as part of sustainable programs targeting the most vulnerable populations.

Orphan sponsorship and care topped the list of implemented projects, with a total of 56 million allocated to supporting more than 62,000 orphans. This included education, healthcare, and living expenses, within programs designed to ensure family and psychological stability for these children.

As part of its efforts to support religious infrastructure, the cost of mosque construction and furnishing projects in various parts of the world—especially in Africa—amounted to 23 million.

Zakat al-Mal (charitable alms) projects totaled 25 million AED, towards meeting the essential needs of low-income families and alleviating the living burdens of the poor.

In the health sector, projects worth 23 million were implemented, including the construction and equipping of health centers and the provision of medicines and treatments for individuals suffering from chronic illnesses.

Under the water sector, the value of projects for drilling and equipping surface and artesian wells reached AED 14 million, aimed at providing clean drinking water and daily general water in communities facing water scarcity.

In the field of education, projects worth 8 million were executed for building and equipping schools and educational centers, along with the provision of school supplies for needy students.

General charity (Sadaqah) projects amounted to 10 million.

Iftar (breaking of the fast) and Zakat al-Fitr projects during the blessed month of Ramadan reached around 10 million, benefiting tens of thousands of fasting individuals in needy countries.

Food aid projects were valued at 4 million.

Social Support projects reached 7 million, while Hajj, Umrah, and Udhiyah (sacrificial animal) projects totaled 7 million.

The value of other charitable projects, such as relief for Gaza and Syria, clothing distribution, and more, exceeded 35 million.

His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahhab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the International Charity Organization, stated:
