The International Charity Organization announced that more than 600 villages are benefiting from its 'Iftar for a Fasting Person' project, implemented in several countries across the Muslim world. During the first half of Ramadan, the organization distributed 225,000 meals and more than 16,000 food parcels to support Muslim villages in breaking their fast.
His Excellency Khaled Al Khaja, Secretary General of the organization, stated that the project reflects the humanitarian message of the United Arab Emirates and its long-standing values of extending help to those in need wherever they may be. He noted that the organization’s teams and offices intensified their efforts from the first day of the blessed month to ensure that assistance reaches beneficiaries on time and in a manner that preserves their dignity.
He added that the organization was keen this year to expand the project geographically and increase the number of beneficiaries, in response to growing humanitarian needs in several countries. Distribution efforts also included workers within the UAE and struggling families.
He explained that the project is implemented through organized operational mechanisms that ensure swift execution and precise targeting, in coordination with official authorities in the beneficiary countries and in compliance with local laws and recognized humanitarian standards. The organization has also adopted a field monitoring system to continuously evaluate performance and measure impact.
He further noted that the organization continues to implement other initiatives such as Zakat distribution, Eid clothing for those in need, and support for urgent humanitarian cases, in addition to development projects including building mosques, schools, homes, health centers, and drilling wells.
The Secretary General expressed his appreciation for the support of donors and benefactors inside and outside the UAE, emphasizing that their contributions have played a key role in enabling the organization to reach millions of beneficiaries. He called on individuals and institutions to continue giving during the remainder of the blessed month to further strengthen the humanitarian impact and reinforce the values of solidarity and compassion.
