His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Charity Organization, handed over an amount of 4 million UAE dirhams to His Excellency Mohammed Omar Al Shammari, Director of the Red Crescent in the Emirate of Ajman, in support of the ‘Compassion for Gaza’ campaign that was launched with the aim of helping those in Palestine and to mitigate the repercussions of the war.
This was in the presence of His Excellency Obaid Al Zaabi, Member of the Organization’s Board of Trustees, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdul Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Organization, and Sultan Al Suwaidi, Head of the Donations Department at the Emirates Red Crescent in Ajman.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi said: “The International Charity Organization continues to collect donations as part of the ‘Compassion for Gaza’ campaign, to be part of the Emirati charitable system that has set the most wonderful examples of giving and providing relief to those in need, thanks to the directives of the leadership of the UAE, which has implanted in this community love, goodness and the necessity of extending a helping hand to everyone who asks for help.”
He added: “Since the launch of the campaign, the International Charity Organization has formed a special team to follow up on collecting donations, which were divided into cash donations and other in-kind donations, such as food parcels and health parcels for women and children, which are received at the Organization’s headquarters in Ajman and its branch in Ras Al Khaimah, in addition to the tents for collecting donations. On this occasion, I can only extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to our partners in this path of goodness, including institutions, companies, and benefactors. We ask Allah to bless their wealth and place these acts in the balance of their good deeds.”
For his part, His Excellency Muhammad Omar Al-Shammari extended his thanks and appreciation to the International Charity Organization, represented by its management and field work teams, for their fruitful efforts in support of the ‘Compassion for Gaza’ campaign, which is considered one of the most important relief initiatives for the Palestinian people, for the humanitarian outpouring it provided that eased the burden of war on those affected, especially children and women. He praised the pivotal role of generous philanthropists both male and female and those with compassionate hearts in making this campaign a success and achieving its noble goals and objectives.
